Substance Abuse Disorders

Our nonprofit foundation is dedicated to supporting individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) who often face housing insecurity. Addiction can strain relationships, cause financial instability, and lead to legal and employment issues, making it hard to maintain stable housing. Stigma and discrimination further limit access to supportive housing options. Our mission is to reduce housing insecurity, promote sustained recovery, and combat stigma and discrimination. We envision a community where individuals with SUD receive the support they need to rebuild their lives and achieve stable housing.

Housing veterans with housing Insecurities

Our nonprofit foundation focuses on housing veterans facing homelessness, a critical issue with alarming statistics. Female veterans are two to three times more likely to be homeless than other adults, and veterans aged 18-30 are twice as likely to experience homelessness as their non-veteran peers. Many suffer from mental illness, substance abuse, or both, and tend to experience longer periods of homelessness due to social isolation and lack of support post-discharge. With 500,000 veterans homeless annually and only 20% receiving VA support, about 400,000 veterans lack needed services. We aim to reduce veteran homelessness by offering comprehensive support services, promoting recovery, and advocating for veterans’ rights and dignity, helping them rebuild their lives and achieve stability.

Domestic Violence Survivors

We support domestic violence survivors, focusing on safety, stability, and recovery. Survivors face numerous challenges, including the need for immediate protection, housing insecurity, mental health issues, financial dependency, and social isolation. We aim to empower domestic violence survivors by providing safe housing and services that promote stability and healing, helping them rebuild their lives and achieve independence.

LGBTQ+ Community

At Keepsake Abode Foundation, we proudly serve LGBTQ+ adults by providing safe and stable Level II recovery housing and essential support resources. Our mission is to create an inclusive and affirming environment where individuals can achieve long-term recovery.

LGBTQ+ individuals often face significant challenges when seeking housing:
Discrimination: Nearly 1 in 5 LGBTQ+ people report experiencing discrimination when applying for housing.
Homelessness: LGBTQ+ adults face higher rates of homelessness compared to their non-LGBTQ+ peers.
Safety Concerns: Many LGBTQ+ individuals face harassment or violence in traditional housing settings, making safe and supportive environments crucial for their well-being.
Our services aim to address these challenges, providing a refuge where LGBTQ+ adults can heal and thrive without fear of discrimination or harm.
